"Palong Tribe in the Field" (Thailand)

This is a sketch I did to figure things out for a larger painting -- the image
here is actually a bit larger than the actual sketch.. Whenever I look at this
scene I remember how incredibly hot Thailand is! I was absolutely drenched in
sweat while taking this photograph and was amazed that these woman seemed as
cool as could be despite all their colorful clothing and the fact that they were
weeding a cornfield! I couldn't imagine doing what they were for fifteen minutes
in that heat and humidity and they were doing it all day long! If the United
States ever decides to go to war with the Northern Hill Tribes of Thailand, then
I'm moving to Canada because they're just too tough.
